New Aiyansh is located about 100 kilometers north of Terrace B.C. I grew up there. The Nisga'a people are friendly and outgoing. The valley is beautiful and it is breathtaking. I miss my hometown... Can't wait to go back and visit. Fresh air, fresh fish, and the hospitality is awesome! Come visit New Aiyansh and stay awhile!

Hi all, I'm from down east here in New York State USA. I was doing some ancestery research on my family and was looking for some info on my grandfather on my mother's side. His name was Rev. Robert West and lived in Clarksburg. He died in 1962 or'63 and was wondering how I could get more info on him. My uncle (married to my mother's sister) was Cecil Green and he had a farm in Heathcote and I remember going there as a kid. Any info would sure help. Thanks.

Was a great place to live, grew up there, spent 17 years
of my childhood and teen years here.It is now, of course mainly a tourist area, although they are reopening the
gold mine, that so many families depended on from about
1930-1969,when the mine closed due to falling gold
prices. I've been back once and it seemed so small
buildings,most dilapitaded,some have been restored.
There is a Hotel where most of the action takes place
winter and summer.I may be prejudiced, but I still call it
God,s country. I would like to hear from other people
who grew up here.I also understand that a reunion of
Bralorners is scheduled for aug.2009?
Interest in Ceepeecee,my birthplace. There is an old news
clipping that I have that says once stood there is a
building called the "Doll's House Hospital", which served
as the community's hospital for years. I'm wondering
if this building has been preserved, or if anything is still
habitable in Ceepeecee?
LOOKING FOR INFO ABOUT "FRENCHY" ALPHONSE DENIS
My father lived in Dawson Creek from 1952 till he died there in 1974. We, his family, were not aware of his whereabouts until after his death. I am after any information anyone might have about his life there. I am aware that he worked as a cook in one of the camps near Dawson Creek and lived for a while in a room at the back of a shoe store on the main street in town. Any information would be greatly received. Thank you.

I have been made aware of the plight of the children of Smeaton. The wheels are being set in motion to make things right for your children. There will be a lot of people from all parts of the country getting involved. Of course we will need the help and support of the people of Smeaton. Put us in your prayers people because we are about to pull out all the stops and make the world aware of what needs to be done to make things right in Smeaton. It's gonna happen in August.
My name is David Graves and I live in Chester, England.
In August my wife and I are visiting relatives in Calgary and whilst we are visiting, my wife and I would like to visit the cemeteries in Delia to find the grave of a friend of my wife who died in December 2008, in Calgary, and was buried in a Delia cemetery.
The lady concerned was called Mary Paetz and was a Roman Catholic.
Can someone advise me where in Delia the cemeteries are located, so when we arrive we are not wandering around like lost sheep.
many thanks and regards, David Graves

I would like to know if Summit Club still exists as a fishing and hunting destination - I spent many childhood summers there with my family - at the time, only railroad families "belonged" - Thanks!!

I remember, as a small child visiting my grandparents who lived and worked for the railroad in Napadogan during the 40's and 50's. At first it appeared to be a large centre to me at an age of 4 or 5 to about 12 when my grandfather retired and they moved to F'ton. My aunts and uncles went to that 2 room school during the 30's and 40's and one uncle went on to Stanley after it closed in 1949. Their names were Eula Haines, Phyllis Haines, Harold haines( father) and the youngest Bliss Haines who would have been about 9 or 10 years old in 1950, when I was born. My grandfather had bought that old church along the way to Napadogan and turned it into a cottage along a creek or close to a stream that was good brook trout fishing( sometime around 1955 I believe). His name was Melbourne Haines and he worked at the CN yard there doing what I cannot remember. Harry1234, can you recall some of this for me as I am trying to track my family, most of which are past on now?....Andy Haines

Similar to the previous poster, my Great Great Grandfather, Alexander Batty also died on the whaling ketch Seduisante on (or about) 25th Sept 1911. He was the ships carpenter and had only joined the Seduisante that year after the previous carpenter died in 1910. His body was never discovered.

My husband and I are looking for a house to rent for a month in the summer of 2010. We need at least three bedrooms and are looking for something scenic. We've got a Kiwi son-in-law who has never seen Newfoundland before and would like to share this part of the country with him. If anyone has any leads, I'd love the help.

I love photographing nature and am wondering if there are some real good marsh areas where there is an abundance of migratory and nesting water fowl? If anyone can help me with this request I would be most grateful. Anyone wishing to meet for a photo shoot would be nice too. I am retired so have lots of free time .

My niece got a summer job in Swan Hills and is going to move there around May 1. Does anyone know of a nice apartment that she can rent for the summer? She is a very quiet, neat and polite person and would be an excellent tenant. A one bedroom or bachelor would be perfect for her.
